Tattoo Removal
Dr. Brown deploys the MedLite® pigment-specific laser to safely remove unwanted tattoos.
With the MedLite, highly concentrated light is targeted at tattoo pigments several millimeters into the skin. The pigments absorb the light, converting it to heat that fragments the tattoo without harming the surrounding skin.
Several factors–including the size, color and site of the tattoo–determine the number of necessary treatments. Multicolored professional tattoos typically require eight or more laser treatments. Amateur or blue-black tattoos need as few as two to six treatments.
Procedures are usually scheduled at 3 to 5 week intervals, depending on an individual’s response. Significant fading of the tattoo continues for up to six months following laser treatment.
